EverAfter is designed for individuals from the Millennials, Gen Z and younger generations, for whom the internet has been a constant presence throughout their lives. Most people in these groups have amassed a vast amount of digital content but have never considered what will happen to their digital legacy after they pass away. As users, it often feels as though their digital lives are left to fate, with control resting entirely in the hands of social media companies. When these companies decide to delete inactive accounts after a few years, many precious memories and traces of a person’s existence on the internet can vanish in an instant. EverAfter addresses this gap by empowering users to take control and plan the future of their digital information.

EverAfter project answers to Flickr's 100-year-plan, which sought to preserve user photos for a century. Building on this concept, EverAfter evolved into a comprehensive platform that allows users to manage their entire digital legacy across various social media platforms. (Conceptually)By collaborating with major platforms like Flickr, Instagram, Facebook, and WeChat, EverAfter gives users the ability to decide whether their digital accounts will be inherited by chosen heirs or safely closed when they die.

EverAfter offers three options for managing digital heritage:

Memory – Accounts are preserved as digital memorials where content can be viewed but not edited.

Close – Accounts are permanently closed, making them inaccessible and invisible to anyone.

Inherit – Account access is transferred to a trusted heir, allowing them to manage content and settings.

The platform guides users through each step of the process, from connecting their social media accounts to selecting the appropriate plan for their digital legacy. With EverAfter, users can safeguard their online presence and ensure their memories and stories are preserved or passed down according to their wishes.

A demonstration video showcases this process, highlighting how EverAfter connects with external social platforms and guides users through the available options, providing a seamless and intuitive experience for managing digital heritage.
